Business on Autopilot Really?

No business is running on Autopilot

I’ve been reading lately accounting on autopilot, business on autopilot, etc., and I really do not know if it is because is a buzzword used for SEO or to sell the idea that success comes only putting the feet on the table and voila! … Automatically fit and work.

The “autopilot” in a business, refers only the use of the technology to increase the efficiency.

The automatism is any reaction that occurs automatically without conscious thought or reflection; and only is allowed for machines; the dynamics of any business, do not allow automation, all actions depend on management decisions, and they need a continuous and constant thought or reflection, these vital details, will allow the business to adapt to market changes and achieve its sustainability. Not flat line, this is a vibrant and pulsating lifeline.

The real word is to delegate (to give a job or responsibility to someone in a lower position or hire an outside service, instead of doing it by you). This does not mean that you push a button and lights and machines start to work, this means that you have to make priorities, prepare plans and then will come who, when and how. For example, if you do not have the time to do marketing (if this is not your direct line of business) you should delegate this action.

Know how and when to delegate is one of the most important skills an entrepreneur has.

No matter how modern is the plane, nor has the most advanced navigation system, always relies on the skill of the pilot to fly.

Some Ideas:

  • Being a Leader, build the path to be followed by others
  • Make decisions
  • Develop Policies and Procedures
  • Prioritize
  • Separate the main actions in functional divisions and surprise!… You will have your own Organizational  Chart
  • and of course DELEGATE
